Start Helmweave on the computer where your projects and agents live. Then make the command center your own.
Before you begin
Node.js 24 or newer and npm
Access to the Helmweave source repository
An OpenAI or OpenRouter key for routing
An installed, authenticated worker CLI for file tasks
The source repository currently requires access. If you already have access, use the guide below. Public download and signup options will be added when available.
Clone or download the source with your repository access, then open a terminal in the Helmweave folder. Install dependencies, build, and start:
npm ci
npm run build
npm start
Open http://127.0.0.1:4317. Keep the terminal running while using this foreground start command.
02
Unlock your command center.
Startup prints the access key file path. Read that file on the host and paste the key into the app’s unlock screen. Follow the first-run guide to configure providers, project folders, connections, and agent roles.
The host creates its SQLite storage automatically. Each browser saves its own device preferences.
03
Connect your agents. Find your flow.
Install and authenticate the CLIs you want to use, then scan for them in onboarding or Settings → Connections. Create role presets and start with a small mission.
For another device, configure network access and trusted HTTPS, then connect using the host’s network address and access key. All agent work runs on the host computer.
